Information Notice: Research at EdComs

Processing your data

The research team at EdComs conducts research for itself and on behalf of our clients. On all research projects it will be made clear to participants the purpose and manner in which your data is collected.

Legal basis for processing data

There are two main bases that we use to process personal data for research purposes.

For each project we conduct, we use either informed consent or legitimate interest to lawfully collect data.

What information do we collect during a research project?

We may ask for personal data (identifiable to a person e.g. name, email address etc.) during a research project, however we ensure that we only collect personal data that we need for the purposes specified.

Who we share your data with

We may pass on your personal data to third party organisations who are involved in processing your data, such as data processors or recruiters, but solely for the purposes of the research project. The organisations we work with all abide by the Data Protection Act, GDPR and the Market Research Society Code of Conduct.

How we store your data securely

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is stored securely and confidentially. Where possible, data will be pseudonymised or anonymised. We will store your data for up to one year, in line with ISO20252.

Do we transfer your data internationally?

Unless otherwise specified, we do not transfer your data outside of the European Economic Area for processing.

Cookies, device IDs

Unless otherwise specified, we do not collect or use cookies, device IDs etc. or process this type of personal data for research purposes.
